Fa Mulan gets the surprise of her young life when her love, Captain (now General) Li Shang asks for her hand in marriage. Before the two can have their happily ever after, the Emperor assigns them a secret mission, to escort three princesses to Qui Gong, China. Mushu is determined to drive a wedge between the couple after he learns that he will lose his guardian job if Mulan marries into the Li family. After the princesses unexpectedly fall in love with the Gang of Three, Mulan decides to help them escape the fate of marrying men they do not love. This contradicts the Emperor's orders and forces him to put Mulan's relationship with Shang into question. They are attacked by Mongolians, and the fate of China hangs in the balance.
I love first Mulan. Very good story, nice characters, fine dialogues and good plot-twists. Music was also outstanding. <br/><br/>Watching Mulan II on the other hand was experience near physical pain. Why is such garbage produced? I understand it was a video release therefore not much quality even expected, but i highly doubt that it even brought any profit at all. It&#39;s not even so compelling story for small kids. It really lacks all the sparks.<br/><br/>Mulan II story is plain stupid and ridiculous - you can predict everything from the first minutes of the movie and .. surprise .. everything turns out the way you guessed as well, but while doing so it takes the lamest direction available and makes you while watching hide your face/close your ears from embarrassment. <br/><br/>Movie&#39;s dialogue is very amateur and not really funny. Even jokes in the style punch-in-your-stomach don&#39;t make anybody laugh. You rather feel embarrassed, that such a wonderful story was crippled by this moronic sequel. <br/><br/>Movie offers nothing in music-wise. It slides mostly on the butchered version of first movie&#39;s soundtrack. Few song are added but they really give a new meaning to a bad singing/composing. <br/><br/>I&#39;m really all negative about this movie and i&#39;m not even trying to hide it. I was very curious about the release and on top of all very open to give it a chance, but it really doesn&#39;t deserve your time.<br/><br/>Though I must admit - there is a huge plus with that movie - and while watching it you will find yourself thanking God constantly for that - the movie is very short. Only hour and some ~15 minutes :). But even then, folks, not worth the waste of time.<br/><br/>Score: 2 out of 10 and that&#39;s a really generous offer.
I love the original Mulan movie and I&#39;m glad the second still retains the fantastic artwork and voice crew. However, I&#39;m disappointed with the plot, the message and character development. Compared to the predecessor, Mulan 2 is way too cliché and the message &quot;follow your heart&quot; despite all the duties and everything is just another way to define irresponsibility and arrogance. Last but not least, after the events from the first movie, I expected Mulan and Mushu characteristics would be something much more than…well…. boring, annoying and childish like in the sequel. <br/><br/>Overall, this movie is so so if you want to watch something to kill time, and the kids probably wouldn&#39;t notice much such details but for adults, it is not memorable.
